Morning Charlie and Eric.

Did Mack ever have a power option? All the ones I have been around were painfully slow...

dustybumpers 04-01-2014 08:55 AM

They go pretty fast in reverse Bill.......

Oldtrucknut7077 04-01-2014 08:59 AM

The one Mack Superliner I used to drive rock-n-rolled pretty good but that had a 425 Cat in it.

When I worked in prestressed concrete I got to drive the yard tractor a couple times. I can attest to that "fast in reverse" thing lol

Oldtrucknut7077 04-01-2014 09:05 AM

The trans I have in mine, I have 6 speeds for reverse. :D

Time to get something accomplished but I'll be back shortly. Try to play nice now.... :-X15

liftnw8z 04-01-2014 09:08 AM

I forget the specifics of this one...it was a dog though.

Play nice? Where's the fun in that...?

dustybumpers 04-01-2014 09:08 AM

Even the visions I drove used the 5 speed for reverse. had a button on the side kicked it in reverse.
Nothing like the old 2 stick in the B's and R's tho, that was a blast. shift all day and get nowhere

Probably a 2 stick Bill. rt stick was a 5 spd, left stick was high/low / reverse

Oldtrucknut7077 04-01-2014 09:10 AM

The U-model I drove was the same way (twin stick). Didn't get anywhere but rolled coal like crazy too!

dustybumpers 04-01-2014 09:12 AM

Oh yeah, little 3" stack FULL of black smoke......

Oldtrucknut7077 04-01-2014 09:16 AM

Yep and the green painted rock box had a big ole black racing stripe down the side.

dustybumpers 04-01-2014 09:19 AM

ever drive a quadroplex?

Oldtrucknut7077 04-01-2014 09:21 AM

Not that I remember.

dustybumpers 04-01-2014 09:24 AM

5 spd 4 spd. same as the mack duoplex, but 4 speed instead of 2 speed. Usually came in detroits. crains, excavators, early gradalls etc. Lotsa fun....LOL

Oldtrucknut7077 04-01-2014 09:29 AM

I don't believe I did but I do remember the tranny.
