got woke up at 11:45 last night, wife heard a noise, which turned out to be nothing. Then it took me forever to go back to sleep.

It is hard to get back to sleep after that cause your listening for noises after.. |
Well, not really. I wear ear plugs to bed, "someone" snores. I was dead alseep before, and after walking around the house, I was wide awake.
