TIRES!!!!!!
 

hey guys im looking to buy tires for my 83 f100 inline 6 2wd drive long bed and dont wanna break the bank any suggestions i live in nj n its snowing every two days or so , so i need something with bite in the snow and i like going camping in the pine barrens so any suggestions?

When i got my truck (86 150 300 4x4) it had a set of 30-9.50-15 buckshot mudders on it. Wed we had 15" of snow here in the mountains of VA. I thought i locked my hubs in but had left them locked from the snow before so i actually unlocked them. Went for a ride and never spun a tire until i tried to take off on a hill from a dead stop. Couldnt get it moving then but if i had weight in the bed and a non granny tranny it probably would have went on . I did pull a fairly steep hill in 2wd but i was already in motion and used steady throttle. That being said i have been researching tires for a couple of weeks as i am buying a set myself. I went with a 31-10.50-15 bfg at. Got all 4 off of amazon for $660 to my door. There is a set called kenda klever mt that have a luggy tread yhat were $605 delivered for a 31 off of ebay . 235-75-15 and 30-9.50-15 were each cheaper. There is a retread company called treadwright.com . They have great prices at about $440 delivered a set. But i dd my truck and dont trust recaps. They have some excelent testimonials listed on the site but obviously dont list the negatives. What ever you choose keep a narrow tire. For a 2wd you want all the weight on the smallest contact area to try to bite into the snow , mud, etc...
