If you are unprepared for a winter ice storm - what should you do at once....

Heat is essential, I think. Start a fire in the yard with fallen tree limbs. You can cook with that, and prepare food.

Food can be stored out of doors. It is cold - you just need to keep it out of the reach of animals.

What else can you think of?

We have a winter ice storm on us - and these are primary topics to consider for our own survival.

PS: These are not usual conditions for our area, we may need to use unusual measures for survival of our families.
If your roof comes crashing down because of a fallen tree - you may find yourself out in the cold.

What can you do?

You need to establish a plan for such an event.

Gather clean snow and put it into clean containers with lids for melting when you need some water.

Old thread, I know, but you forgot to mention going to Kroger and buying them out of bread and milk.

Folks around here love milk sandwiches when the weather turns!

Milk and bread is for bread pudding, isn't it?

A trash bag (black) turned upside down on a bucket will melt snow inside it to fill the bucket.

Black collects solar heat

~ and lettuce as well as other greens planted in the fall will grow even if snow drops on them.

Thread or topic "ARCHEOLOGY" isn't entirely useless...
