Was a gm thing Pontiacs till 64. Feds stepped in in 65 and made everyone standardize like Ford and other brands. That Buicks starter button is connected to throttle linkage. You had to floor it to crank the engine.

I'll take it. That's exactly like the one dad had when I was quite young. I learned to drive manual on the 3 speed floor shift. I could barely see over the steering wheel.
