Fuel Sender for Stewart Warner Gauge

Anyone using a Stewart Warner gauge in their truck with a stock tank? I know I need the SW range sending unit, but don't know which direction swing or depth?

Long shot but thought I would try.

Thanks,
Dave

I can't say for sure but the SW gauge is probably looking for a resistance reading of 240-33 ohms. This is common for some aftermarket, marine, and even some OEM sending units. You can get an adapter from Sacramento Ford Parts that will allow a matching 12V aftermarket fuel sender to fit your stock tank but it is not likely you can make the gauge work with the stock sender. :)

I also have a S-W fuel gauge I got at a swap meet (for $1!), this is what I found for senders from their catalog. Note it is for 5-hole mounting, I'd swear the stock sender has 6 holes.

Yea Ross the stock is a 6 hole and you need an adapter, I made mine on my lathe. They can be found for 20-30 dollars. The ohm range needed will depend on the gauge, SW along with the others make several ranges for use with stock senders so you will need to know the range for your gauge.

Thanks all. I knew about the ohm range, but was wondering if anyone knew for sure which one would fit our stock tank. Looks like I will go with the top one on the list.
