Rebuild book?
I know this is A$$ backward but I have my truck just about down to the frame now. I didn't start taking all the parts off the PO started that but I did finish the job. Now, most of the parts are marked and I know approximately how to put the ol '53 F100 back together but I may need some good instructions and pics.
Here is my question....... Is there a GOOD shop manual you guys would please recommend me? I did find this one,,, any good? 1953-54 Ford F-100 Shop Manual, 1953-54 Thanks. |
That shop manual should be a good help.
This manual on cd is invaluable: 1948-56 Ford Truck Master Parts Catalog CD - HiPo Parts Garage It has exploded diagrams of everything and is worth the $22 just to be able to look at the pretty drawings. Here is an example of one of the pages from the book. http://cdn1.bigcommerce.com/server19....1280.1280.jpg |
Does this have info on installing the fenders, doors, heater, ect?
|
Most of the detailed instructions are for the main elements of the truck: drive train, electrical, carburation. There is limited info on things like door alignment and such. In many ways, this forum is the best source for reassembly info - including fenders and heaters, the latter which typically were not factory options on the Bonus Built.

Since the drivetrain will be mostly different I guess I will save my money for now. Thanks
