2.0 distributor removal
just wondering how hard it is to remove the dizzy on a 84 ranger 2.0? its completely covered in oil was wondering if the dis hold down bolt by the block was the only one holding it down? thanks

got the distributor removed now i think you have to remove the drive gear to replace the pickup coil? does any one know the procedure to remove it the right way?

Been a while since I messed with one, but as I recall, you do everything from the top. Two flathead screwdrivers at opposite sides of the reluctor with a gentle prying motion should pull it straight up and off the distributor shaft, it's located by a small roll pin (don't lose it!) in a slot.

ok thanks how do you remove the blue plastic piece on top of the shaft/reluctor wheel?

Well, that's a part of doing a regular tune-up. The rotor just pulls straight up.
