where to buy Shift on the fly vacuum hoses

Howdy,

I just got a 1999 f250 7.3 and am doing all the maintenance that kept the beast within my price range: ball joints, drag link, leaking up-pipes, etc. While hanging out under the truck (which as an aside is much roomier than it was under the toyota camry we had before!), I noticed these dry-rotted tubes hanging down by the front brake calipers, and thanks to this forum I now know that these are the vacuum hoses to engage the 4x4 hubs. But what I can't figure out is where to buy replacements (besides very nice and expensive braided ones ... price range again). Can I just buy vacuum hose from NAPA, or is there something more complicated going on here? Do I need to replace the fittings (perhaps not the right terminology ... I mean the nipple the tube connects to) as well?

Thanks

Yes, regular parts store vacuum line is all you need. I believe it's 3/16". If not, surely someone will chime in and correct that. If your fittings are not corroded, they should be fine to use. By the way, welcome to the forum. Great bunch of helpful folks here.

3/16" is the size. I've heard of guys using SAE 30R7 fuel hose, about 23" per side.
