Goodwill Sawmilling Trip

My Son Marty and I will leave tomorrow for Rusk, Texas on a a Goodwill sawing trip with no pay.

Lightning struck a young family's home and it burned to the ground. They had very little insurance, and there are 4 children age 10 and below.

We will be sawing framing lumber so that they can rebuild.

Have a safe trip. That's a great thing you're doing. And a great Christmas present for the family. :-jammin Reps sent.

We are back home with a very successful sawing trip under our belt. We began sawing Monday morning and finished Thursday about 3:00 PM. We sawed all of the framing lumber (8965 board feet) to build this family's new home.

There were a total of six of us working. Three from Mississippi, one from Oklahoma, and two from Texas.

That's great work & fellowship for a worthy cause. God bless.

Great show. What saw equipment was used? Was the lumber left rough sawn or was it run through the planer?

I have a Wood-Mizer LT40 SuperHydraulic sawmill. knotholesawmill.com

The lumber will be air dried and no planing will be necessary.
