TheBigBee 12-03-2013 09:35 AM

Well truck is at the hillbilly mechanic down the road from me so we shall see how it turns out! Im just glad I will have a truck again after 4 months of it sitting in my yard.

I don't know if Mike and Rich like being called hillbillies.....:-X04

SDElwood 12-03-2013 10:47 AM

I much prefer redneck.

TheBigBee 12-03-2013 11:08 AM

I will go with redneck.

We will see he is only charging $700 to install front and rear gears and rebuild front axle with new seals and bearings.

bbender85 12-03-2013 11:12 AM

i don't know for sure but i'd guess that's a pretty fair price.

i forget, have you DD'd your big truck during past winters andrew? i know i've seen pics of you snow wheeling up north.

TheBigBee 12-03-2013 12:16 PM

The truck was my DD up until I bought my mom's Impala 2 januarys ago. Depending on MPG's i may use it again as a DD this winter but for sure I will be using it during the storms this year. The tires that are on it now did pretty good last year in the snow.

Every real shop was quoting $800 for the front and $500 for the rear. Plus parts.

i keep forgetting you're not running the mud grapplers anymore. those sound scary on the ice in a 15.50" flavor. :-X04

TheBigBee 12-03-2013 12:49 PM

I have 38x15.5 R18's on it! Kumho Road Venture M/T Never had a problem last year.

bbender85 12-03-2013 12:58 PM

i have to imagine those kumhos have a little better icy road manners.

SDElwood 12-03-2013 01:24 PM

Oh no man, get some CrapYear DuraCraps. They're awesome.

Toyman 12-03-2013 01:29 PM

Happy 3rd of December.

I think I will sneak out of work early today, I've been here fixing drywall and putting offices back together after the carpet guys come through. At least my office looks like an office again.......

Which of course makes me thirsty.

Good luck not having to plug in Brandon. My truck does not like to start when its cold and unplugged, I just cycle the key a couple times and its good to go. My cord is on a timer so it doesn't turn on until 3:30 am. I am also going to put a marinco shore plug at each end of the truck to plug in from either side, ordered the plug already....and it's a good excuse to go to Mikes on a Sunday and drink beer on his hoist :-jammin

TheBigBee 12-03-2013 01:39 PM

Ya they do and they are 20 times quieter going down the road.

same here, i just bumped my timer from 4:30 am to 4:00. i try to leave the house by 6:30 and it's been fine just being on a couple hours. think i read on here that block heater draws over 1000 watts.. that'll add up. i like the idea of the shorepower plug, read about that before. i'll be anxious to see how yours turns out.

CLINT-THE-GREAT 12-03-2013 03:09 PM

Afternoon Pat, AL, Brandon, Mike, Rich, and Andrew

CLINT-THE-GREAT 12-03-2013 03:09 PM

Mysteriously warm today....50* ..... I'm ready for the snow!!

-The Great

SDElwood 12-03-2013 03:22 PM

Not a problem Rich. The cool thing is the ambulance plug - as soon as you turn the key it shoots the cord out - very handy if you have remote start...

bbender85 12-03-2013 03:22 PM

howdy Clint. sold my brand new snowmobile 12 years ago and haven't missed the snow since.. (ok maybe some), so you can have it!

SDElwood 12-03-2013 03:23 PM

Do you want a brand new (to you) used snowmobile?

bbender85 12-03-2013 03:26 PM

is it newer than the '79 Kawasaki 340 Drifter I still have in the shed lol?

SDElwood 12-03-2013 03:36 PM

1995 Yamaha 600 long track man. You've seen it... the red pile in my barn.

TheBigBee 12-03-2013 03:42 PM

Well looks like I am headed for Itasca/Chicago in the AM for a whirlwind trip to my sales office to replace some equipment.

nice of you to stop by should be near 55* here tomorrow.

maevans 12-03-2013 06:50 PM

I shot this doe with a Rage 125 grain broad head last night.

First deer I have shot using a Rage, really happy with the blood trail and the size of the holes it left. made for a fast and easy 80 yard recovery.
