Vacation pics

This summer, my family and I had the rare opportunity to take three weeks and drive from Phoenix, AZ up to Yellowstone and back. The trip totaled 3,400 miles, one of my truck batteries went into meltdown in Montrose, CO and we narrowly avoided a blowout on the trailer near Salt Lake City, UT. Other than that, the trip was problem free and full of a lifetime of memories.

Several of my pictures, my family fondly calls my truck commercial pictures. Since this is a truck thread, it is these which I will share.

Not out of Arizona yet just across the bridge of the Colorado river at Lee's Ferry.

Just up from Old Faithful a little bit on the other side of the road in one of the many geyser basins.

The truck was absolutely amazing. I got my best MPG driving around Yellowstone (not towing) where I had no problem averaging 24 and if I REALLY babied it, I could get it up to 26.

That's funny, I just looked at your location to see your in Manchester. I've been commuting to the Manchester airport and then to the Kittery shipyard from there every two weeks for the last year. Thank god that jobs almost done!

acf6 11-13-2013 03:40 PM

Which manchester? NH?

TrainNut 11-13-2013 03:53 PM

Oops. Yep, NH. Before that, I was commuting to New London (Groton), CT.

acf6 11-13-2013 03:56 PM

Wow nice pictures! Stunning. Some of those pictures look like they came out of a brochure. Maybe one day my family will take a trip out West with the camper. My in laws have been to Yellowstone and parts West several times before.

Train Nut, well I worked 34 years on trains, I guess I should have chosen that moniker. I survived all the sleepless trips and trucks running the gates. Now happily retired.

Wow, nice pictures. We've been to Yellowstone several times, it never fails to amaze me. Thanks for sharing your wonderful time with all of us!! And, these trucks are amazing RV pulling machines, aren't they?

A GREAT THANKSGIVING TO ALL OUR MEMBERS..............

Jim

Thanks for sharing, recognize a lot of landscape. Flaming Gorge is amazing, if you roll in from Rock Springs (the armpit of Wyoming) all of a sudden you go from sage brush & coyotes to some of those most beautiful country in the states.
