Hey JM,
Our truck had a lot of issues when we got it including inch thick bondo caked on everywhere & significant rust issues in the cab & bed. I just looked at those fenders & it would have been months of grinding. We chose to work on the cab & bed & bypass the fenders by going with reproduction fiberglass ones.

I was pleasantly surprised with the thickness & quality of the fiberglass fenders & they won't rust. They aren't exactly plug & play - you still have to massage them to get the fit exactly like you want but it wasn't a lot of effort. We did stay with reproduction steel running boards - I just wasn't confident about stepping on fiberglass.

Our fenders were around $265ea - well worth it so we could concentrate on saving the bed & cab.

Good luck over there.
