Engine mounts on 68 F100
I posted in the 300 section but it needs to be here. A while back I told you all about the bad motor mounts in my truck and the issue I had. Well, finally got around to getting a pair and installing them. The passenger side went alright, I had to modify the bracket a little to get the holes to line up but all was good. The driver side, not so much. No matter what I did, all the pushing twisting, I even took the mount apart, flipped the base around and it still was the width of the bolt off from the hole in the perch. Any tips on this or anyone with experience using the Anchor mounts on a 300? I gave it up for the day, too frustrating. I guess I may need to modify the holes on this one as well. The passenger side dropped right down in with very little effort so I don't know what is up with the drivers side.

Bub, any FE or I-6 stock engine perch from 65-72 should work without issue. Don't know why you are having problems.

It's the luck I have. You know, if it was not for bad luck I'd have no luck at all when it comes to these types of projects. I'm going for round two tomorrow. I got one, I'll get the other. Hopefully.

Sometimes I can't read too good. What year and model is your truck, what engine did it come with, what engine are trying to install?

No, the perches are there and fine. Just trying to replace the insulators. I've got the anchor 2331 and 2332 and the 2332 is being a pain. The 2331 dropped down nice and easy so when I moved to the drivers side the 2332 is off just enough that it is making it hard to get it to settle into the perch. The 2332 uses a half inch bolt which is bigger. I need the motor to psh back about a half inch and can't seem to get it. I'll keep at it today. A fresh day and clearer head sometimes does the trick.

I know everyone was concerned but I achieved success today. I got a new mount from Advanced and instead of putting it on the motor I put the insulator in the hole in the perch and slowly dropped the motor. After some wrestling I got all the holes to line up and tighted it all down. Next is the rear trans mount which looks simple enough but that is what I was told about the motor mounts.
Do I need to take out the cross member to change out that mount? It looks like it would be much easier to do so.
