Wheel adapters 5x4.5 to 5x5.5

I'm contemplating on installing this into the 51 (pending confirmation that the CPP power booster and m/c kit will fit - see my other post: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-in-an-f1.html)

However, it has a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. It appears to be a Speedway kit. I did some research and obtained two rotors with the 5x5.5 bolt pattern that come with the Speedway kit. I installed the new rotors yesterday, but the rotors are thicker than the 5x4.5 rotors. I called Speedway today and confirmed that the calipers, caliper brackets and spacers are different between the 5x4.5 and 5x5.5 kits.

With that in mind, I searched and found 5x4.5 to 5x5.5 wheel spacers.

The spacer is 1.25" thick. I'm wondering if this will push the wheel out to close to the fender. I'm running 15" wheels with 215/75 size tires. Measuring the approximate clearance now, there's about a 2.5" clearance between the top curve of the tire and the top of the fender (measuring horizontally - i.e., outwards).

Has anyone used wheel spacers/adapters with the stock configuration and had tire rubbing issues? What wheels/tires are you using?

The darkside is a slippery slope, isn't it?! :-X10

Most likely it will. What you can do is order rims with different back spacing to offset. Which means you might as well just have 2 different bolt patterns, different back spacing limits tire rotation all the same. If its the bolt pattern for strength you want, a spacer reduces overall strength.

Its not per say the horizontal thats the issue its the vertical. Striaght axles arc upward where as arm suspensions arc up an inward. I realize that is a very general statement, but SLA suspensions have a little more forgiveness versus straight axle when it comes to tire clearance.

Here's a pic of mine with the Speedway kit with the 5x4.5 rotors installed. Tire size is 215/70R15. Keep in mind that is has been lowered quite a bit... I think those spacers will put the wheels too far out.
