Great! I'll be watching for your posting. My heater still works, but it is pretty high on the list of getting things done to it.

As long as there is still something to work with on the parts, I am not much concerned. Been a welder/toolmaker/fabricator for most of my life, so knocking sheet steel back into shape, or doing some patching is not much problem.

My heater parts, the ones under the fender, are just too far gone. The core and box inside the truck is still in very good condition. Just need to boil out the core, and refinish the box and control panel. Even the original cables are good, along with the blower knob. I do need to locate replacements for the Air, Defrost, and Temp knobs, as they have crumbled away.

Here you can see the crumbling knobs. One has already departed this life.

The box and cables are in very good condition. Paint is failing, but other than surface rust, it is good.

You can see that the blower cover is coming apart in sheets. The blower housing itself is long gone. The one in the photo is a repop. I made myself some 30 years ago.

Tube doesn't look bad in the photos, but it is shot through with pin holes, and thin as hell.

Amazing work, Denny! It looks like a factory.

Are you painting with rattle cans?

Abe , see post #102 . Explains the paint . It is a custom matched PPG slight hammered Aztec Silver .
That is sort of what the wife said "Looks like an assembly line "
