Greetings Denny! Have not posted in a looonngg time, but am now getting back to doing a bit of work on Gertie.

What I need are the tubes and blower housing for my 1949 fresh air heater. Basically about all the parts that are under the right fender. I think the inlet housing above the headlight is OK, but the rest is absolutely rotted away. Got those parts available?

Can anyone tell me are the 48-52 Coe heaters much different than the other f series heaters.

lgfuller 09-17-2017 11:03 PM

I can answer that pweng1. I pulled the heater for my COE out of a f600. perfect fit. I'll snap up a pic of it when I get off work tomorrow, and post it up for you. Also, also, I like your COE, I still prefer the 20's on the front, but yours looks good with the 17's.

Lg My bad i should of told you i want it for my 51 Coe . Yours is a 53 and they are different styles i think. In my 54 Coe i just swapped it with a 56 and got the 12 volt fan motor that way. 53-56 all were the same except 56 changes to 12v.

The main body of the Magic air heater is the same as others . The only difference is the fresh air intake is a cylinder w/ a baloney slice looking baffle / door & fresh air is introduced through the fire wall via a steel tube w/ a 3" hose / duct . Have only seen 1 in 10 yrs. of the heater hobby & it was sold before I arrived home from the "Great 2013 Parts Safari " Found in a salvage yard in N.C. Wis Came out of a '51 COE . Will find the pics & post later .

Pweng, that's all good, and mine is a 54. For the earlier ones, should still fit. The cab on the F1 is the same through the F8, just the fenders are different on the bigger trucks. I went and looked at a 51 COE, and most everything interior wise is the same as the standard trucks near as I can tell. (I think the upper and lower valence panels interchange, as well as the grill assembly.) I didn't get the 51 because that would have been another 14 years before I got to work on it... lol.

Thank you Denny you are the man!!! Now to look back at my parts to see if i have anything like the fresh air tube. Do you know if motor is same bolt up as the all the F series. Your refurbishing looks great!

firstrider 09-19-2017 12:56 PM

As stated the main case is the same for all '50 -'52 Magic Air heaters . To be purist correct the only difference is the '50 &'51 core tubes are 5 1/8 " OC while the '52 is 3 1/8 " OC . Cable control panel is different also from '51-'52 although they are interchangeable & each will work with the other heater .Have many complete systems & many misc. parts for all types of '48-'52 heaters . Having 3 new '51 cores made up . John Hulley you are next for a '51 Magic Air heater system .
Will be mid Oct before anything heater wise is done . Preparing for the F100 All FORD truck show trip to Pigeon Forge , Tn . Oct 4 -8 .
We have a club event this weekend . Mid Oct 18 to end Of Oct is the "Great 2017 Parts Safari "
If any one needs a specific part , hard to find part or elusive part for '48-'52 truck get your list to me by Oct 16 . Still have 12 Magic Air heaters , & 32 lots of parts from Little Dearborn ( good pickup load ) at my brothers in N. Wis that will be coming back w/ me . All will be at Daytona in Nov. Thanks Denny

pweng1 , could you please post a pic of the fresh air tubes / ducting for a COE ? Am curious as I have never seen what they look like . The '51 COE where the heater came from in the bone yard had no front clip .
