Towing Capacity of 1996 F-150.

Hello all-

I know this has probably been asked before, but I was wondering what the towing capacity of my Truck is. It is a 1996 F-150 with the 5.0L w/ automatic. It is a standard cab with the short bed, and it has the factory towing package. I only need to tow one time from Miami to Tampa.

If someone could fill me in on this, it would be great. Also, if anyone has any experience towing with this configuration, let me know.

Thanks all,

Daniel Foster.

It depends on your axle ratio and if you have 4x4 or not. These are the weights for a 1996 F-150 reg. cab:

4x2 3.08: 4600 lb.
4x2 3.55: 7100 lb.
4x4 3.55: 6800 lb.

These are Ford's figures; your truck shouldn't have a problem if there aren't too many hills.
