OT. Do you live in Scandinavia?
Hi you all.
I thaught we could see how many of us on this fine forum actually are from Scandinavia. Sweden Finland Norway Denmark If we are a few maybe we can eventually arrange somekind of "truckfest" or "truckstock" Scandinavian style. Please state name, country and city if you want to, and year of pickup. I´ll start with: Jimmy Carlsson Sweden Fagersta F100 1956 |
Hi!
I live in Katterjåkk, Norrbotten. I was a FTE member ten years ago but was stupid enough to sell the truck and buy a Mach 1-69. Now I am cured from the disease and I am back with a "new"F100 1956 BBW with a 272 y-block and Fordomatic and this truck I will keep forever. I am absolutely in love with this forum. People are extremely helpful. |
Sorry, Family sold the farm years ago.
Pioneer of the Month- - - Mt. Pleasant, Utah: Lars and Bodil Madsen ~ Pioneers of the Month ~ September 2010 I have to say though that the family has gotten much better looking over the years ;) must have been all those Mormon Women :-X04 :-huh |
I do not live in Scanda-navia, I live in Pennsyl- vania.... or am I dislexic?
Anyway, a Truckfest in Northern Europe sounds like a good idea for you guys. |
Hey Jimmy,
Don't forget about us "transplanted" Scandinavians. Drinking expensive drinks & talking trucks sounds like fun. Every time I checked into a hotel in Sweden they changed my last name because they knew I was just misspelling it - I gave up & went by Danielsson over there. (1) less "s" over here. My great grandfather came over from Smaland(?) to the U.S. in 1885. I think there are more Scandinavian guys on here. Ben in Austin 1950 F1 |
My father was a full blooded Dane, guess that makes me half......I've always wanted to go to Denmark to see where the family originated. Maybe when i retire....
|
My Grandpa was from Norway . I own the '52 F-1 he bought in Nov . '51 Am 1/4 Norwegian . Does that count ?
|
This is going to be real fun!!! Half a Dane, a quarter Norwegian and a 1/8 Swede. Sorry Abe! I dont know how we could squeeze
you in unless you dont have a wife from Finland ! !:) |

Very interesting Abe!! 1722 !! Your mother's family arrived very early!!
I had to check google for U.S population in 1720. "The population of American colonists reached approx 500,000" |
Ford PU noob in Västerås here.
Noob to the extreme extent that I do not even have even ONE rusty part, much less so something that resembles a potential restoration candidate.
BUT, I am stubborn and in the process of finding a F1 or F100 that can be resurrected by a 68 y.o. Have never worked on a frame-vehicle , but naive enough to believe that it must be simpler than a unibody. Last unibody rebuild was a 230 SL, kept at it for 8 years. Hope to find and complete a F1/F100 before being hauled off to the senior citizens heaven. Ola |
Ha ha, if you have done an SL, These truckes will be a walk in the park.
Welcome |
Here on the left coast of the US , but still have family in Finnoy Norway. Norwegian descendant carrying on the family name, Hesby.

Jimcar, pse call me
Hi Jimcar,
thanks for the reassuring words. The pu will "be a walk in the park" compared to an 230SL (Pagoda). Well maybe for some, but the Pagoda was done after having played around with 50s/60s MBs for 30 years, all kinds ( except the 300 SL). I tend to work much too fast when learning new stuff, so first time screw up is default mode for me. Great way to learn, second time goes a bit better, and cheaper. The fifth time I am really good ( but bored ). So, I am quite sure that I will learn a lot of new things if I succeed in getting one of the two pick-ups I am chasing. Could you please get in touch with me, I live in Västerås. Have some q´s regarding rust repairs and best way to source patch panels. You can get me on phone 0723 000 895. I tried to post this as a comment to you directly a few days ago, but maybe i goofed up?:-X15 Best regards Ola |
