It will be... I'm helping Wvo and svo diesel to vegetable oil conversion kit | VeggieGarage.com develop a kit to replace the OE fuel lines for Vegistroke-type VO conversions. We currently just add check valves at the heads and screw the vibra-loc adapters and stock lines into the check valves - but these 1/8" CV's aren't very robust and have enough of a failure rate we want an alternative. These lines are waaay bigger than they need to be and the hoses were sized to be routed differently. What we did was make what we had work. :-roll The 'kit' won't look like this - I'm not happy with it... :-X15 |
Well, its all back together and the starter worked about 45 secs total before it appears to have retired. :-X15 Perhaps it didn't like the clean-up job I gave it. The thing was rusty and greasy as hell...
We will have to see what is on the shelf in town tomorow - no time to shop around or get this one rebuilt. :( |

Sorry for not updating this!! Everything went pretty smoothly and after replacing the starter with a lifetime mitsubishi from napa (includes free TOWING as well!!!) - it fired up and had no leaks or problems. The brakes were FUBAR with stuck calipers, etc so I didn't get to put as many miles as I would have liked before loading it back on the trailer. We replaced the frozen/locked front caliper back at Frank's, but the studs were breaking as we tried to remove the other wheel.... I tapped-out because I was out of time - but I think his local 'mechanic' can handle the rest of the brakes. I left him a stellar example to follow!! :p
More pics later tonite. We didn't get home until 4am this AM - I'm gonna take a nap!! :-X04 |

Here is the brake job example I left for the other guy to follow:

Looking at the last pic reminded me I rolled over the scales at the dump on the way out of town and tipped 11,420lbs with 200gals of WVO on board and a BTS transmission in the bed (no trailer). Yeah, my truck is HEAVY!! The trailer is about 2k lbs and Frank's truck at least 8k lbs.
This truck performs amazingly well. I was hitting 30psi of boost on steep grades and never saw EGT's in the red the entire trip - cracking the whip like it was a rented mule!! :p There is more than enough power on tap and the EBC Yellowstuff pads always provide adequate and predictable braking. These Toyo MT's are a little noisy, but they look so damn good I don't care!! (although the next set WILL be AT's again... ;)) Yes, I love my truck (perhaps inappropriately sometimes :o). I have personally put well over 250k miles on it since I got it in May 2003. :-X04 |
Nice pictures. Where the H--- do you guys get the Veggie oil. Be nice if I could find it. My neighbor picks it up but puts lime in it each time so he can dump it. Its his business here in Ca.
