Getting EXCITED again!

Glad to see you back at it. I hope retirement doesn't work out for you like it did for me. I seem to have more to do now than before I retired.

Did I miss your running board build on here?

Yea, good to see you're back at it. Keep up the good work.

I got some cash for Christmas so I promptly got on the midfifty.com site and ordered inner and out door handles, hardware and outside mirrors. I did my part for "redistribution of wealth" lol

Don,
Just catching up with your build. You sure have done a nice detailed job on the build so far. It looks great!
Regards,
Chris

Not directly truck related.. But I got the stuff out of the shed and organized a little.. I know it doesn't look like much BUT... after the truck being BURIED for 2 1/2 years under junk I feel good to have accomplished this little bit.. plus I dug out the wheels and they are going to powder coat next week!

At least you are organized Don..good to see you back to your build..

Well today I finally picked up my tailgate which I set in the corner 2 1/2 years ago that I messed up on and caused me to walk away from the truck. I took some measurement and decided to try and salvage any thing I could. Fist I cut the center section out and began to whittle away at it. at the end of the day I think I can actually reuse the frame and just reskin it. We shall see..

Think I saved the tail gate... THIS time is will weld S L O W E R so as not to heat warp it.

Drewski 2 01-16-2017 08:02 PM

Don, I wondered what happened with your build. It looked like you were on a roll. Keep at it. I can't tell how much scrap metal I've created over the years. Take your time on the welding, it's faster than having to do it over.

SpeedHut gauges arrived today. I think they will look good. GPS speedometer so no cable to trans required!

smallello 02-02-2017 10:13 AM

Nice gauges! I didn't know about a GPS speedo, that's cool. I like the built in tach too.

SumDayDryvr 02-02-2017 10:41 AM

Good to see your truck is back on track and that you have gathered the parts to keep it moving forward. The GPS driven speedometer is a great idea for anyone doing any driveline changes. Keep up the good work.
