New to the group and just purchased a 65 F100

Hey guys....My name is Bob. I just purchased a 1965 F100 short bed. The truck is pretty solid, has some rust spots that have been repaired by previous owner with bondo. 289 under the hood and a 3 speed on the tree. I drove the truck home from the previous owner. It does have some issues but not that bad considering its a 47 year old vehicle. I am not going to try to do a full restore but maybe try to make a tricked out daily driver that could possibly be put in a daily driver class of some car shows and stand out. I will probably be asking you guys for lots of advice so bare with me. The first this I want to do is improve the handling. What do you guys recommend to do that is easy on the pocket book to add power steering, disc brakes and will be not to hard to lower the truck 3 to 4 inches. Is there any other model cars or truck parts that will be relatively easy to interchange.
