PCV Valve for a 1999 5.4

I have a 1999 XLT with a 5.4 and 4X4 and was wondering which PCV valve was correct. I looked things up and it says the EV-238 was correct but I pulled an EV-233 out of my valve cover. I bought it new and the valve has never been replaced before.

Look up at Ford's official parts website.

ok, so I did that and the call out says EV-238 (includes EV-233 valve and grommet). My EV-238 came with a valve marked EV-238 and a grommet.

I even put my VIN in and I get PCV hoses and valves for a 4.6 so I'm not sure its all that good.

Service part number EV-238 consists of the combination of an EV-233 plus the grommet.

If you need only the valve, order the EV-233. If you also need the grommet, order the EV-238.

In the box I have is marked EV-238 F75Z-6A666-BA and it has a valve marked EV-238 and a grommet for the valve cover.

I thought valve number EV-233 was for the 4.6.

Probably been updated. Install it and quit fussing...

you would think that if it was updated it would be changed on their site.

If it's not the correct PCV valve for the engine then its just wrong!

Wow, a pcv valve is a pcv honestly. Either it is too big and it sucks oil, or it isn't big enough and it spits the dipstick out and spits oil out it. If the pcv valve is working leave it. All it is is a check valve. Kinda funny to me that it has become a "tune up" item...
