Shorting pyro?!
Gauges are Isspro EV2
finally got around to installing the pyro in my 6.0 I have two other gauges..fuel pres and tranny temp both have been working fine for the last few months. anyways went to add my powerwire to the pyro and went key on...nothing happened found I blew the fuse for the pyro. each gague has their own fuse All the gauges are in parallel. nothing wrong with any other gauge both work fine. if it matters all guages are daisy chained are far as power/ground/dimmer Looked at the wiring all appears to be correct. I discod the connected from the pyro and went key on to see what would happen. fuse did NOT blow and the backlight did not come on. all other gauges worked fine. What do I do now?! |
Defective pyro probably or a botched wireing job got a rub thru somewhee.

What amp fuse did you use? Are you sure the connector wasn't backwards or upside down? We have discovered that the connector can be forced far enough in when upside down to make electrical contact and short out. Power should be on pin #1, closest to the driver's side of the vehicle.
Here is the troubleshooting document for this series: http://www.isspro.com/TROUBLESHOOTIN...leshooting.pdf Regards, Michael Pliska |
Embarrassing but connecter was upside down. Whoops. I'm sure its happened to all of us before. Gauge works fine now! Thanks for everything. FTE is the best
