Upholstery Shop Near Tulsa

Bruno just acquired for me a set of 88 Bronco captan's chairs and console that are to go in Dad's truck during its reformation. Does anyone have a recommendation for an upholstery shop in the Tulsa area?

Lew's looks good online, but then since they are posting it why wouldn't it. Anyone have any stories about them?

Gary, I don't have any recommendations for you. I know there is an upholstery shop on Main Street in Owasso. You might wanna give Pinnacle Auto Repair in Owasso a call. When I cant work on my vehicles I trust them to do it. The owner is a classic car/truck guy and i'd bet he's got some good feedback for you.

Thanks. See Dad's thread.

I know I'm a tad bit late, but I've used Masseys on independence. There are located just north of 244 and north Sheridan. They've repaired th seats in my '69 Thunderbird. I found them by seeing a lot of cards in windows at a car show many years ago.

Mike - Thanks. I'll follow up with them on Monday. I checked with SEAT and they want $1500 to $1800, depending on material. That includes the fancy pockets on the back and the headliner. But Bruno put me onto Jannie Olds of Bar-None Uphstery. Her price is $550 to $850 for the same things. And she says she won the Street Rod Nationals in OKC three times.

So, I have two extremes and need a third to provide more clarity or confusion. I'll call on Monday to see what they say. Thanks!

I used Massey's for my front seat in the F250. They were reasonable and did decent work. The used some kind of metal clips or rings to fasten the ends together. I don't know if that's standard or not. I used Bar None in Bixby as well.

Glad you reminded me - I didn't call Massey's, but instead went with Jannie Olds of Bar None. She sent me a picture of a seat she had just finished, shown below, and that pretty much won me over. And then we bought the material yesterday - $190 for the vinyl, fabric, and headliner. Add to that the $300 she's charging for the seats, headliner, and sun visors and I'll have right at $500 in that part of the interior. :-jammin

That's a smoking deal. I was thinking it would cost more like $500 per seat!

Gary Lewis 08-02-2013 10:03 PM

Yep! It didn't take me very long to figure that one out. I'd created a spreadsheet of the two shops and the two approaches within each shop - tweed fabric vs stock. The tweed approach was to be the least expensive, and it came in at about $600 in total. Well, I think the tweed I got looks a bunch like the stock material, and the whole thing is just $500. Here is a shot of what I got as well as a shot from an '81 Bronco brochure - what do you think?

Gary, are you going to get "Logan" on your seats?

I thought about it, but then realized that with bucket seats where the monogram was on the bench seat would be awkward for Jannie and passed. ;)

Hiya Gary, can you let us know how it turns out and if you were satisfied by them? I would like to get my motorcycle seat reupholstered and padded differently.

Gary Lewis 08-15-2013 08:28 AM

Ron - I will, tonight most likely. Jannie sent me pics via text last night and I was taken aback. We are going down to pick them up today, and if they really look like what the pics show then I'm taking them directly to SEAT and Massey's for quotes. And, I will probably leave them at one or the other.

So, I recommend waiting a bit to see what they look like in real life.

Picked up the seats just now and will be dropping them off to be redone somewhere today as I don't want them in my shop. I almost cry when I see them. Here's a pic she sent me last night, but I'm not sure it will show properly so I'll try three different ways. You tell me what you think.
