Help removing Navigator door panel 2003
 

I need to replace the door latch on my 2003 Navi. To my understanding I have to remove the entire door panel,can I get some help with that? This is for the rear passenger side door. Thanks in advance! Pictures appreciated. I am trying to save money, so please don't tell me "go to a dealer or a shop." :-X06

I've removed plenty of door panels, just not a Navigator. Generally, they are all similar. I'll try to get you started. Others will provide specific info.

First, look all around the door for any fasteners that will need to be removed. Some are hidden under small panels, door switches or courtesy ligt covers. Also look under the arm rest for holes that hide fasteners, if they still do that.

Will need a wide flat blade screwdriver for prying off covers.
You will need a phillips head screwdriver.
You may need a small nut driver, probably 5/16, but maybe not.
*Steel chisel & 4 lb sledge hammer. *(just kidding)

Once the fasteners are out and electrical switch panels disconnected, the panel will lift UP off the sill, then pull away from the door.

Putting it back on can be slightly more fiddley. Have patience and take your time.
