back on the fourm

It's been ages since I've trolled or posted here, but figured since I'm finally sealing a deal on a '56 Ford C series truck I ought to get back in the group. Hafta close on selling the house July 1, find a place to live, and by mid July fetch the truck. Here's what we're draggin home:

Is that on a different chassis or has it had the front axle replaced?

The lug pattern and number of lugs does not look right.

Congratulations. I know youve been looking for a long long time for the right truck.

Looks like a great start.

Yes those wheels are not original lug pattern. Would have likely been a 6 lug wheels or if the truck is/was a big job it would have had 20" Daytons. Right??

Keep us posted and more pictures please.

Josh

Yeah it's on a late 90s bowtie chassis.

Okay, I'm browsing on my wife's iPhone and have a question. The pic embedded of the Coe is upside down but I swear it was upright on my monitor at the office. What does that image look like for y'all?

old_dan 06-12-2013 08:32 PM

Looks right side up on my screen!

Looks good to me.:-X22

It not only looks right side up, it looks like a cool project. You are looking for a house with a really large garage or shop I am guessing.

Your Not going to use one of those "Brand C" engine in it, are you ?

That would just be so wrong.

We are looking for at the very least plenty of land area. Currently chasing a property that has a decent size shop to use now. The house is a built in metal building on 5 acres. Plan is pay the place off within a couple years and begin building a new home in the back within 5 yrs. the. The metal building house would get gutted, materials repurposed into a guest house and the metal house converted into my insulated and conditioned shop.

And for the much more important question, I'm torn between going with a PSD or at DT466. No bellybutton motors in my rigs!

A great plan, hope it all works out for you.

After a long tedious search, my 56 C series is 1/2 way from the Houston area to home near Oklahoma City.
She put up quite a fight with rear brakes locked the whole time but we reeled her in.
She's far from perfect but I'm very happy with overall condition compared to many I have passed on. Steps are there so I can rebuild those. Then all the typical rust places. Unfortunately including the drip rail above the windshield.
I'll try my hand at posting pics from this phone... Might have to wait to use the pc

Good morning,
Was wondering how things are going with the COE. I'm not too good at navigating these threads. Hopefully you weren't forced to sell it.
Ken
