Ranchero motor swap

Looking to install a late model 5.0 efi into a 67 Ranchero anything I should know before I start? Going to use a used car for the parts.

I do not know you, so I am going to ask, can you read a schematic? The hardest part for most people will be to tie in the electronics to the old electrical system. Some of the brackets and mounts and hoses will have to be modified too.
I once put my '67 Ranchero on my '66 Bronco chassis. It took me a year, working to to three nights a week.

Thanks for the response. Yes I run a large automotive repair / custom shop. I have found before I start a project car like this it is a good idea to ask people in the know what works the best. I like to work smarter not harder. I have not got the Ranchero yet from the customer but should have it in the next few weeks. I still need to find the donor car and that seems to be the problem. What will work best for this build. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Alan

The Ranchero body could hold any small block and the body even came with the FE series engine, 352, 360, 390, 428 cid will all fit. But they are hard to find parts for. Almost any year Mustang, Cougar, EFI 5.0L even in the Explorer though '98 would work. I would try to get one from a '94 or later car as they used the mass-air sequential fuel injection system, and were a lot more forgiving when you added mode to the engine. Cams, exhaust, tunes.
