Amsoil Coolant, Go or No Go?
Just about to flush my 05 6.0 Cooling System and was wondering what coolant to go back with. I've read to go Cat EC-1 Rated and I like the way the amsoil coolant looks on paper but am a little confused on whether it is rated Cat EC-1.
This what it says: APPLICATIONS AMSOIL Antifreeze & Engine Coolant can be used in any applications requiring the following specifications or tests: ASTM D 6210, D 3306 Caterpillar EC-1 Chrysler MS-7170, MS-9769 Cummins CES 14603 Detroit Diesel 93K217 Ford WSS-M97B51-A1, WSS-M97B44-D Freightliner 48-22880 GM DEX-COOLŪ John Deere 8650-5 Mack Trucks CN H TMC RP-330 US Military CID A-A-52624-A Go or No Go?:-roll https://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produ...ngine-coolant/ |
I do not believe the Amsoil coolant carries the EC-1 cert. It is EC-1 compatible and there are plenty of trucks on the road running it.

It says it is: nitrates, nitrites, phosphates, silicates, borates, amines or molybdates free. From what I've read it's the silicates I don't want it there
