Exhaust.... Stacks?
Okay, I am looking for either a Dual 4in Exhaust system, or 4in Stacks... What do you guys think?
Anyone know of a good place for this stuff? Also, I have no real need for a muffler, so... Thankyou for your time All the Best -Christopher - - - - - - 1990 Ford F-250 7.3L Diesel, Extended Cab and 8ft box. |
Exhaust.... Stacks?
I've only seen stacks on a Dodge Cummins, it sounded good, cause I didn't see a muffler, so I would give it a shot.

Exhaust.... Stacks?
Personaly I don't think the powerstrokes sound that great with straight stacks due to the v-8 motor configuration. The dodge with a cummins on the other hand sounds good just like a big truck. Thats just my opinion though good luck with what you decide, and I want to see pictures.
On edit The guy around here that put them on his dodge's used regular 5" big truck stacks, it might of given his a deeper sound. |
Exhaust.... Stacks?
I am short on money right now, so I have decided to just go with a replacement 3inch exaust pipe/muffler... Will help power/torque out a little. After I save up some, I'll look into the stacks... Cause that would just be super cool!
Thanx For Your Time All the Best -Christopher |
Exhaust.... Stacks?
I have a friend with a '03 F-350 7.3 and he put straight pipes on it. It is LOUD!!!! I never heard a diesel backfire til he did that to his truck.

Exhaust.... Stacks?
I have a buddy that has straight through exhaust on his 7.3L, it sounds awesome. Also saw a Dodge on Sunday with stacks.....looked ok, but was a little much for my taste

Exhaust.... Stacks?
Some guy I used to work with had 7'' stacks on his Cummins ram , and it sounded exactly like a 18wheeler. If I had a pickup , I would def. do the stacks.......

Exhaust.... Stacks?
I saw another Dodge with straight pipes the other night. It wasn't as loud as the 7.3, but it still sounded pretty good. I also saw a '94 F-250 N/A Diesel with straight pipes last night. It sounds stock at idle, but when that feller took off, it sounded like a regular gas engine with straight pipes except for the compression/combustion "trademark of a diesel" sound.
