Weird Issue

First off if anyone is local to me and has an AE, and wouldnt mind running some codes please let me know. Im in Somervell county in Texas. I already have a message to the guy that helped me last time, but a back up plans always a good idea.

Had HID fog light for the longest time without any issue. Installed HID headlights the other day (yes cheap ones, just seeing if I liked the look). Thats when the issues started.

Morning after install truck would not start. Crank and crank, nothing.
Disconnected the HID and the truck started.
Pulled in the shop to hook up the trailer, and after hook up would not start again.
Jump started the truck, and drove it all day to make sure I got it charged.
While driving my trailer brakes said "open ground" at 2 seperate points. Went away.
All day driving and shutting off and on no problem.

This morning went to start and it seemed to have a hard time.
Started to back up to the trailer, and the O/D off light started flashing.
Hooked up the Dodge for work instead.
Back about 5 hours later, I go to start and it cranks and sound dead and wont start.
Put a volt meter on it to read the voltage and its 12.8.
Have my partner try to crank it so I can get the volt upon cranking, and it starts fine.

As of right now its starting fine, and the lights not flashing. Will probably be different tomorrow morning.

I know until I get the codes pulled its a crap shoot, but just looking for ideas to look at now before I get the codes read.

Did you pull the battery cables to install the HID's?

sounds an awful lot like a bad battery connection/cable to me

Yes I did. Checked them, and there tight on there. All I could really do is take them back off and try to clean them, but there not dirty.

Well checked them again and the passengar positive was connected and wouldnt come off, but you could turn it just a little. So pulled that, wire brushed the terminal and connector, tightened back down so theres no movement at all.

Are these trucks that picky that that little thing could cause all that commotion?
