Bed liner and SVO

So everyone that runs WVO/SVO knows that it is a messy job. I am looking into making my bed look better so I am going to strip the bed and put a liner in it. My fear is that the WVO/SVO is going to be penetrant the liner by this oil and I am going to have a dirty bed that is peeling up. Has anyone had experience with WVO/SVO and rhino, linex, ect? Are any liners better than others? I do not want a plastic liner. WVO/SVO on a plastic liner is slick. Ask me how I know....

I don't have personal experience with truck beds and WVO, but I have lots of experience with WVO. I don't think you'd have to worry about it penetrating the bed. I've found that WVO left on an automotive surface (I know this because of a small pinhole leak I had on my Jetta for a while before I caught it and it sprayed all over the underside of my car) just solidifies and becomes tacky. You can easily clean it off with Simple Green/Purple Power and water, but until you break it up with a degreaser, it just becomes a tacky mess. I suspect your bed would just accumulate WVO residue, and it wouldn't really contribute to the deterioration of your bed. On smaller scales and thicknesses, yes, WVO can be a penetrate and solvent that can really do a number on certain materials, but really that only counts in smaller situations.

Also, I'd assume you would have the opportunity to clean the bed if you had a large or series of WVO spills. So, you can, if you want to, always take care of your new bedliner with degreaser and water.

But I guess there is always the possibility that I'm wrong and WVO could gradually eat up your bed. But I just don't think that's possible from my experience. :-X21
