Navigator Spark Plugs
I spent a couple hours today working on changing spark plugs in my 2004 Lincoln Navigator. I took a short at number #8 but could not disconnect the connect from the coil. Whoever decided to run the EGR tube over the number #8 coil should have to change Navigator spark plug for a living. The coil connector seem to break. I broken one but it seem two of them were already broke from the last spark plug change done by the dealer. The #8 connector seems to have the tab broken as well but I could not get the connector off the coil. Has anyone have problems with the connection removal on a coil?

I had trouble with that one too and for the same reason, the EGR tube. I ended up using a pry bar to move the tube just enough to be out of my way.

I always disconnect the wiring connector before loosening the coil pak, otherwise you need two hands back in there. Impossible.
All done by feel. I had to loosen the fuel rail to access the #8 (drivers side) back plug. Once slightly removed, it can come out similar to the #4 plug. Not an easy task. |
