When you factor in about 900.00 for shipping to the rust belt, as opposed to doing the never ending body work with the rust in all the seams and bubbling up after the 5000.00 paint job, trucks like this are a bargain. I have bought two dry western state trucks and shipped them to the left coast and never looked back. When I decided to pull the trigger on my '65 landcruiser pickup from Show Low Arizona, the 900.00 they quoted for shipping was about the round trip fuel cost if I took a week off work to do it. The guy who brought it had 3 cars on his trailer and I'm sure 3 more for his return trip.....And Spurredon you managed a two word responze and mispellled both of thum.

GB- I concur. Starting with a solid core is worth the shipping easily.
My daily driver 1 ton came from Reno, NV., is a low mile 2000 model, and
I'm very pleased with it. The $700 shipping by DAS was more than offset by
the discount in purchase price, due to model year.

You guys are talking about over land shipping. I would need ocean shipping added to that from the left coast to Hawaii. Might be around $2K or more, just for the ocean shipping. No, I will have to deal with lots of body work, but as long as I can do it all myself, using my experience and tools, I will. :-X06

I think you are sayin 'the bird in the hand'..... Yeah, Hawaii isn't like shipping from Arizona. Got married there last month and noticed it is the far west rust belt. Dang, there's some rough rust in your 'hood.

Actually the hood is not as bad as it looks in the pic. Some shallow pitting that will need filling after cleaning, but not too bad. I can handle that.

The fenders will need patching and may just buy the patch panels that cover the whole back section. I have the rockers, step panels, riser panels and cab corners already. I just need to get to feeling better to start tackling some of this. I have all my equipment and tools ready to work.
It is just the place where the truck is has generated electric so that needs to be maintained.
