08 Ford Edge engine codes

Hey folks,

I have an 08 Edge with 51k on the engine. I've got two codes, P0011 and P0016. One is a cam sensor and another is a cam actuator. Should this be covered under the powertrain warranty? GM covers the cam actuator under their powertrain warranty but Ford told me that it's not covered.

It should be covered depending on the warranty start date. Send me the VIN and I can check OASIS

Ford already checked the status of the drivetrain warranty. I'm good for another 11 months of 9,000 miles. My question might have been vague. I was wondering if P0011 and P0016 should be covered under that warranty. It's a fairly cheap ($380) repair but one I'd like to avoid paying if I could.

Those codes are for the cam phasers. I just finished doing a set today. Since its covered take it in and let them fix it. The TSB is 11-6-1. I pull the engine to do them since the timing cover and both valve covers have to come off and it's a lot easier getting to everything with the engine out.

I thought it was going to be cam phasers too but they told me it was just two sensors. The cam actuator and the cam position sensor.

Oh, and they are not the ones that ran the codes. Sears did because I just don't have the money to pay Ford to check the code and tell me it's not covered under warranty.

Actually read the TSB. It's exactly what I thought. Thank you.

Ben
