Gauge Install

need gauge install on 2002 F350 DRW in MD
suggestions?

What do you want to monitor? I suggest a Scan Gauge II. Easy install, many gauges for about $160 or less. Plugs right into your OBDII port. Watch Auto Zone for discounts on it. Or Amazon.com

Here's the gauges that are available for you in the Scan Gauge. http://www.scangauge.com/support/x-g...cific-xgauges/

So what is your question?

Where is the best place in DMV area to get it done. Would try to tackle it myself but I heard you have to tap the exhaust manifold

BPofMD 02-15-2013 02:53 PM

Not a big deal.... I did my own and I was 70 years young when I did it....I have the 6.0 not the 7.3. But I did do mine back when I had a 7.3..... in 1994. The manifold is pretty soft iron. If you have a drill and a tap the right size it isn't hard. Sears has the taps available. Start with a smaller drill than called for and keep getting bigger until you reach the suggested size in your direction that should have come with the gauge and sensor.

Where are you located in MD?

Im in Silver Spring. I heard I have to worry about the shavings

BPofMD 02-15-2013 05:04 PM

Naw.... they usually fall straight down. Be sure to wear goggles.... maybe put a little grease on the drill bit to make the shavings stick to the drill....or magnetize the bit. I just didn't worry about any of that..... Most people don't even sweat it.
