6.2 Cab Off?

Does the 6.2 require cab off for repairs like the 6.4 and 6.7 diesels?

I'm not sure about the 6.4, but the 6.7 doesn't require the cab to be off for repairs. In some circumstances, it's probably just easier to have it removed.

I haven't heard/read of the 6.2 requiring this. Are you concerned about having the cab off or just curious?

I was just curious. Fortunately I have not had to do that with my 08 6.4.
Looking forward to getting my new F350 next week hopefully with the 6.2.
I hope not to have as many issues with the gasser as I have had with this diesel. That is not to say the 6.4 is a bad engine, I just dont need the diesel nor do I use it as it should be used as far as pulling heavy loads with long drive times.
Thanks for the feedback.

I haven't read of any catastrophic 6.2 failures, at least on the few forums I read. I recall someone here ran into some issues with a valve or something a couple years back, but that's been it. Usually people turn to the internet when problems are encountered, there doesn't seem to be much drama with the 6.2, which is maybe why the 6.2 forum is kinda slow. I guess it just works!

You are right about the Forum being slow but like you say the 6.4 and 6.7 have more posts on problems than anything else.

Microsoft 8 with the new browser speeds things up a lot.

I meant there isnt a lot of posts on the 6.2 forum. Guess there are a lot more diesel owners.

^^ This is what I was referring to as well, low thread counts.

The short answer is no. And yes the 6.4 diesel is a cab off for repairs vehicle. My old 6.4 had the cab off for just about everything. The 6.4 is a fair motor up to the end of the warranty. But after that, you will need lots of cash to keep it running. The longer you keep it, the more cash you will need. :-huh This is why I bought a 6.2 gas. :-jammin

I too have made the change to the 6.2 from the 6.4 for the same reasons. It is a shame what the new emission requirements have done to the diesel engines.
