DIY Bedliners
 

I'm looking to put bed liner in my bed (no duh) and on my floor. Is there a good roll on or spray on bed liner I could try? I don't have like $200 to spend on it. Honestly the cheaper the better. And I can use different stuff on the interior than in the bed.

You get what you pay for. The pricier products tend to be a lot more durable and last longer. Better engineered to resist UV, abrasions and weather.
Most importantly, be sure to properly/thoroughly prep the surfaces you want to coat. If "Hard/Tough" protection is not as important then you can use almost any acrylic urethane or epoxy based liner. If you want to go cheap try picking up some epoxy, you can find fine to medium grit rubber grindings, mix the paint, mix the rubber into it and roll it on :-jammin Oh don't forget to test and see if the rubber melts in a small amount of the paint/solvents you are using and also test a small section of the bed to see how it holds up.

Honestly, save up $200-$350 and put "Proper" materials into your truck. If you use cheap stuff and it get's messed up, starts chipping or peeling, it will be a lot more work later.
You do have some low cost options such as:
Duplicolor Bed Armour or Herculiner, some of the under $100 options. Try stopping my your local autoparts store or order from Amazon.

Well I wanted to use herculiner in the bed later, i wasn't gonna try anything too cheap in the bed. I need something in the interior to replace the 40 year old carpet, and my shoes get too dirty to justify a $200 carpet. The cheap trial will just be for the interior. You think it could hold up to getting stomped on?

I have had the several spray in bed liners and I went with the dual liner this time. Initial install took about 30 - 45 mins. But I have the factory 5th wheel hitch in my truck so I had to do some modifications which took me about 6 hrs. To cut out the side panel and rubber floor mat for the hitch and electrical connector. So far I'm very pleased with it.

A little late but i finally got some interior bed liner layed down. Its the rustoleum rattlecan, good for an interior, bad for a bed. Thanks guys from keeping me to making a horrible mistake

Yeah I got some pics of the liner. I am going to go ahead and hit the rest of the cab up in a darker blue then right now. With the floor it makes the rest of it look so trashy :p

Looks good to me, not much texture tho huh.

It would be no good for a bed. But it feels like theres a high grit sandpaper on the floor. Much better than just a painted floor. I'm glad I didn't pick up enough for doing a bed. And @ 8 bucks a can for 2 cans it isn't super cheap

So how does that stuff make the interior sound? Any noise reduction with it?

Well I can definately hear the exhaust note :). The noise doesn't bother me, and a lot of the road noise is cut down. It cuts down on the "tin can" sound the truck had with just the paint. I'm thinking about putting down carpet just because I tore my knee up on the stuff when I tripped

I was going to be pulling the interior of the truck I am getting soon and wanted to do something to reduce the tin can sound. I had debated using some stuff like Peel-n-seal as a sound deadener, but spray on would be much quicker and cheaper.

Buy about double what you think you're going to need. It does run in a few places. I just know if I tripped up and busted my knee, I know shorter people are going to do the same (or be less lucky with it being their knee.
