Help!!

Is anyone in the Greenville area able to take a look at my truck. the truck was driven to the audio shop last night and this morning they are unable to start it. They say they tried to jump it but the starter is just clicking.

did they try to 'ole bang-on-the-starter trick? when i replaced one in my 5.4 it came with a new pigtail connection.. i guess the factory ones corrode pretty bad. might check that too.

TheBigBee 01-24-2013 11:39 AM

Supposedly they did. Also told them to try and jump the starter.

Ok they got underneath and the starter is receiving full voltage. They tried jumping the starter and still does the same thing, Just clicks wont roll the engine over at all. Anyone have any suggestions or diagnosis.

solenoid on the starter.

Yep, sounds like a solenoid on the starter.

Did you get someone out there?

TheBigBee 01-24-2013 01:33 PM

Nope no one was available.

Toyman 01-24-2013 01:35 PM

did you get a starter yet. Mike works right by you and might be able to get one at his cost. He works for an MG repair place right by the airport.

TheBigBee 01-24-2013 02:32 PM

No i haven't gotten one yet. I was going to stop on my way to check it out for myself.

TheBigBee 01-25-2013 07:08 AM

Ok so I went to the shop last night to see the issue for myself. When i got there i hopped in and sure enough just a single click no roll over nothing. Popped the hood hooked up the jumper cables to the impala and first try starts right up. No clue as to what they were doing.

I have the solution... Do a 7.3 swap then you will have two batteries.

TheBigBee 07-21-2015 11:57 AM

Mike has the answer right there. Plus it will bring the worst headaches of your life figuring out the issues.
