It certainly looks like you've got the know-how to put the parts back together. Sweet rides. The 65 GTO was one of GM's better offerings, imho. Thanks for sharing. :-X22

Great shade of blue Qman, sweet Panel

56panelford 12-29-2012 12:32 PM

Great work on both previous projects, really like the panel and who wouldn't like the goat? Looking forward to your 54 project.

Damn nice rides Q. I love em both.

AXracer 12-29-2012 02:38 PM

I like em both! I had a 67 Tempest LeMans, my first new car. I couldn't get insurance on a goat at my age at the time. The panel is very nice the custom work is tasteful. Who did the work?

qmanconfused 12-29-2012 08:43 PM

hey guys... thanks for the nice appreciation. a few details

GTO
i had one back in the day. it was a red ht with black interior
4 bbl 389
4;11 posi
m-21 close ratio 4 sp
chrome reversed wheels/baby moons
it was a street screamer.......and nearly killed me!!!

the one you see in the pix i had made in 99/00 out of a rust free body out of n. carolina. every nut, bolt, clip you name it was taken off and either replaced or rehabbed to as good as new or better. my aim was to compete nationally. it was finished in spring 00 and i drove it to columbus, ohio right out of the shop. long story very short, i took 3 place in my class at the 2000 GTO nationals. i still have it and have only put approx 3,000 miles on it since then. the guy that did the most on the car sleeps with the fishes.

after that experience i wanted to design and have built a panel van...total custom. its a 54 chev with a pontiac 455/400 turbo trans.,9" ford/3.55's i cud list the rest but, believe me, there's not enuff time left tonite before i zzzzzz. its got it ALL. it took a second place at the all truck nationals at carlisle, pa in 02. two years later i was taking a left hand turn on my green light and a 3/4 ton p.u. hit me at about 40 on the pass side front quarter. it was totalled. boy, was the insurance co unhappy:'( my knee and back weren't too happy either. i did design it and made all the pretty and critical choises. the front and rear air bags let me lay it right in the grass when competing and ....she is pretty:-X06 or was:'(... same major builder and yes, he still sleeps with the fishes

i'll get out in the barn & get some pix of my 54 so you guys and girls can see where i'm starting from. so far AX and the good dr. and others have already given me a great deal of help so.....we'll see

later
