Western Europe
Hello all,
I would like to see how many Western Europeans are here. Could be interesting to know where you're from, where you go for maintenance, where you buy parts,... :) I'll start: I'm from Belgium near Bruges. At this time I'm going to a Ford dealer for maintenance and some of the already fixed problems because I don't know where else to go. (and that's 1 of the reasons why I started this post) Other parts are being ordered online, like my denso starter and Delphi CPS. Greets, Mark :-drink |
Im from the UK , i get my parts either from a local supplier who charges silly money , or my best preference is when i go to my vacation home in florida i get them from there , fill my suitcases with little bits and pieces. most i came back with was 2 brake discs, steering stabiliser, diff gaskets, oil filters, fuel filter and light bulbs (as they dont even supply the same fitment here in the uk) then i was at the limit for my baggage allowance with my clothes packing in there too.
for maintenence i have to throw the Ex into a local truck depot as its too heavy for the 3.5 tonne lifts here, to be honest they do a good job ,i supply the parts , they fit them. cannot comment on my waste of time local ford dealer as i am still waiting for parts for the wiper mechanism recall from 3 years ago :( , just hope the truck catches fire when no-one is in it due to this fault , then sue the ass off em for incompetence. |
Thanks, Marcus.
I think that most Europeans don't have problems with their trucks. There are only a few over here, but more than 2, I think. :) |
The Problem is that "Ford USA" and "Ford Europe" act as if they were 2 different companies.
Here in Germany there are just a few licensed "Dual Dealers" - with the respective pricing... The first spare parts I ordered were from german US-Parts dealer until I discovered that the same parts were sold at "Summitracing.com " and/or "Rockauto.com" for half the price. They have international shipping and in combination with PayPal the ordering is easy and cheaper as the detour with german traders. For example: I've layed eyes on the Edelbrock Performer Truck Intake. Direct in Germany it costs 1097,97€ + shipping Summit offers it for 770,27€ - shipping included |
If you happen to visit Southern California, our chapter will treat you right:-X22.

I lived in Deutschland for 10 years ('73-'83)
I'm currently in Mississippi. I've helped residents of Europe obtain parts here and have shipped them overseas. PM me if you think that I can be of assistance. |

To add one more from w.-Europe.
Hamburg, Germany. I'm getting my parts from Kts.de They are far from being cheap. But they deliver fast and they are just around the corner from me. Getting stuff directly from the states... LMC Rockauto.... ship to germany but have horrendous shipping prices IMHO. I'm still looking for a way to cut these prices in half..maybe with a kustom shop in Hamburg. Tikki |

LMC Rockauto.... ship to germany but have horrendous shipping prices IMHO. Translation (for everyone else ;)): The shipping costs at Rockauto are resaonable - if you watch out that every part comes from the same storehouse. If you see that part 1 comes from storage a) and part 2 from storage b) then you have the double shipping costs. |
I lived in the Hanau area for 3 years and remember a bar owner with a 73 2wd short bed charcoal grey colored with a big Clint Eastwood pic painted on the hood.
It also had the bar name "Electric Cowboy" paint on it, I have some great memories from there. I am currently shipping some parts to Gressvik, Norway for a fellow FTE'er. |
Hi everybody!
I was born in Belgium and now living for 15 years in South of France. New FTE - member, but proud owner of a '03 7.3 F250 for 5 years now and there is another one to come: '99 7.3 F250! And why not an Excursion ... in 7.3! For parts, I suggest a very helpfull guy I know in Belgium, Oordegem (between Gent & Brussel): Bart at Jeeps Unlimited. If he doesn't have it in stock, he will get it in a month: with other guys, he imports a container every month ... Good luck! |
I'm from denmark.
Usually get my parts from KTS in Hamburg/Germany or from the U.S- Riff Raff or Tymar performance. Great guys, fair prices. |
I've assisted European members of FTE obtain parts from the USA.
I can possibly pick up from a local supplier and ship to your location. If I can be of help just send me a PM. |
