Always enjoy history being rediscovered.

Truck is owned by Bill Naudain of Clayton Delaware.

Has owned it since purchasing it from Jack Whitby ford in October of 1963. Took the truck in stead of the new Thunderbolt he had on order.

I was at its unveiling and helped with some restoration work on it along with some other slick 60s members before i moved to Arizona.

Bill now has the truck i believe up and running with a 427 FE. He told me he blew up too may wedges and purchased a 427 SOHC and stuffed it in there along with a B&M automatic. The hammer marks are still in the firewall from where he beat it back to clearance the head. There are even dents in the underside of the hood from too many RPM parts displacement.

I went to Bills place to help with some inventory and was amazed at the NOS cammer parts and other ford goodies. I picked up a NOS set of bare casting tunnel port heads and asked Bill if he knew he had them.. "Hell no i forgot about those". His place was pretty interesting.

Bill is one of those guys you need to meet once in your lifetime.

Legendary ford magazine did an article on the truck and Bill in April of 2006.

Garbz, I was attempting humor, but thanks for the additional history. Glad to see that it has survived

Kind of interesting. I was looking at the first link and below it has the DST ordering information on how to get your own XL100. But interestingly enough it gives the DSO coding to order the "Ranger" interior in the 1964 F100 or F250 in red or black. I know there has been many discussions on here about the existance of the 1964 Ranger but it definitely appears that it could be ordered, maybe not called a Ranger but definitely the Ranger interior trim package.

Garbz has had his hands all over it. It is real. It did not leave the factory door as seen, but we don't want to spoil the legend. :)

Ford called it a Sport package. I have seen one 64 truck with this option. Some here refuse to believe it but at least one does exist for 64.

LOL,

There are a few more on here that can say more like "needmoretime" who actually discovered the truck sitting under a car port buried under years of junk at Bill's place.
