"TEDDY" Back by popular demand!
OK well at least Debbie and I are excited! He is getting close to visiting the local DMV.
Got the new tires and rims mounted the other day. This is before the drivers door was repainted on Saturday! Friday we spent the better part of the day at the big pick-a-part in Las Vegas. Searched the entire place measuring and checking the bench seats, then found a set of buckets in a Lincoln that were in great shape and the right color. So we went from bench seats to buckets by the end of the day! Before cleaning They look even better after a cleanup. (no pics) Spent the day today putting on some of the trim and hardware. This week I'll mount the seats and install the front and rear windshields. then off to the DMV :-jammin Interior won't be finished for awhile. So far we have only been in and out of the garage and on the street enough to turn around. Haven't even got in to second gear ( hope I didn't screw anything up in the rebuild:-huh):-blah:-blah Any way sorry for the ramble, I'm gettin excited! Its been under reconstruction for 2-3/4 years now:-hair |
teddy looks great Wally! you have waited a long time to get him back on the road and looks like you have done a great job! someday if i have the money and have tired of "playing" with mine i may go down that road but thats a long way off. it would break my heart to take something that pretty out and play with it like i do mine. next on my list is getting it all one color......probably black epoxy primer. and i thought i was doing good to put black duct tape over the holes in my brush painted black floor. gotta try to keep the cold out ya know! is it just me or are we getting a orphan fridge 4x4 club together? you GOTTA love that :-jammin its really good to see so many start to pop-up.

Mark; when I came in tonight and seen your post on the other fridge 4x4 thread I decided to post this thread. Seeing you and the kids out tearing it up made me think about all the good times I've had thrashing Teddy! He is shiny now but believe me he will be played with and driven.
I think your right about all the fridge 4x4's coming out of the woodwork. Very cool! When I bought mine back in 1970, NOBODY had a 4x4 and dang few had trucks:-missingt. All my buddies had tri5's and muscle cars. But when hunting season came we took the truck. |
From one Wally to another, "It looks Great". I put bucket seats in mine as well, works out good.

Thanks Wally!

Teddy is AWESOME!
|
Certainly looks 'chipper", the way it sits up there!
|
Coming along nicely! Mind if I ask what size tires your running?
|
Chet Thanks! The tires are 255 85R 16 BFG, I wanted tall and skinny, Didn't really want the noisy deep lugs but the choices were pretty slim.
|
I Like my tires like my women, tall and skinny. :)
|
Hey Chet where you at with your 59 4x4 project.

We I've got all new hydraulics for the brakes and clutch. All old brake lines and hoses removed all new clutch lines in and working. Restored steering wheel. That's about it.
