PCM Number Location

Had trouble finding information on how to locate the PCM number on my 2012 F 250 6.2 liter.

Here is a link from the good folks at 5Star Tuning. Cleverly placed under "Where is my PCM Code". Got a 6.2L V8

Also, 5Star is a top notch place to get your tuner.

Yep, they have a great reputation here.

I'm orderin' my (5 Star) tuner this weekend. }>

Talked to them today. Placed my order online a little while ago. Ready for this upgrade!

So much for waiting for the weekend, just ordered mine too...

I am interested in you guys feedback once you get the tunes loaded as I am considering getting one as well.

There's quite a few guys here in the 6.2 forum that have Mike's tunes and love them. Same goes for the 6.8 (V10), lots of happy customers in there and great support to boot.

I had no reservations about ordering mine! I'll report back once I get one loaded though. It may be after the holidays, my wife hates when I open presents early... :-X19

Now the $64 question; Are you guys still under warranty?

I have a '13 coming in next week. Tuner is one of the goodies I'd like to get for it.

I am kinda thinking pretty hard now that 5 Star has the Christmas special on.

2000silverbullet 12-07-2012 10:55 AM

I am, and that's been my dilemma since I bought the truck. I needed to keep it a while (going on 2 years) and get some miles under it (19k) before I felt comfortable throwin' a tune on it.

I feel the same.
With that said tho, I've seen nothing in the way of engine problems with the 6.2 (so far) that will keep me from adding a little software tweak to it at some point.

I'll be watching for your 'new tuner' thread in a couple weeks. :-jammin

My thoughts exactly. I'm always one to take advantage of a good opportunity. My wife does it (...but it was ON SALE), so why can't I? :-X04

I hear ya. I'm anxious to see what the 93 perf/tow done does... }>

Mike already provided me tracking, wow. I just ordered it last night!

If you don't mind, what tunes did you get?
Do you have stock intake & exhaust?

2000silverbullet 12-07-2012 01:57 PM

I ordered the 87 economy, 87 perf/tow, and 93 perf/tow tunes.

Stock intake and exhaust (for now at least...).

I got the 87 across the board. I did not want to pay the extra for 93 gas. The performance is awesome but rarely use it. You just can't help yourself with the gas pedal. I do use the tow tune for the whole summer while towing the TT, never have to use the tow/haul button with that. During the winter I use only the economy just to save on gas. Once in a while for a few weeks I will put the performance on and have some fun.

If you can't find the PCM number, you can get it with the SCT tuner when you get it and email it to Mike, you'll get the tunes the next day via email.

Got my tunes from Mike this morning and loaded them up in the unit. I'm heading out of town at 3am tomorrow for a couple days so loading a tune is going to have to wait, I can't afford to miss my flight if I screw something up!

Hopefully I'll get the 87 tune loaded on Friday. I'm almost through my current tank of gas, so my next fill up will be the 93... }>
