Biodiesel conversion?

Has anyone done any work in this area? My dad has a VW rabbit that he's converting. Seems the process should be similar? Ideas?

Biodiesel conversion?

Hi,
Here in Europe we already have around 25% rape-seed oil in our diesel fuel, my 1986 F-250 has no conversion and burns it Ok.

I have been told to watch out for leaks at the o-rings as they dry up faster with bio-diesel. The truck has been running on it since 1998 and no leaks so far, hope it lasts, the only noticable difference is the odor of the smoke !!

goto biodiesel.infopop.net. Several Ford diesel owners are using biodiesel or vegetable oil. Search on 'Ford' and 'Diesel'

It does if the biodiesel was made from used fryer oil from a f+c place. Usually smells like 'something burning in the kitchen' or a BBQ. All say it's better than petro diesel.

25% doesn't change the odor much but it does smell better than straight diesel, no french, sorry, "freedom fries" coming out of the muffler yet!!
