003 F350 7.3 ESOF problems
My truck stopped shifting into 4wd recently. The switch tests as good, I replaced the relays and tried an aftermaket Dorman shift motor I had access to. The Dorman part did not fit well, btw.
I can manually shift the transfer case with a 9/16 wrench, with some effort. All the fuses are good, although I should recheck them after testing stuff. I am consistently getting the P1828 code which refers to the clockwise shift motor coil. Which is a little odd to me because it is in 2wd which is all the way clockwise. This is not a hub problem, this is an issue with the transfer case shiftig. Someone help me out before I fab up a cable shifter or start driving my chevy 2500 with the shift lever on the floor again. Thank you! |
The only thing I can think of is the plug on the transfer case motor. I had a similar issue with mine, I was able to move the plug around on the motor and it was able to kick it into gear. From what I understand it is not uncommon for the plug to fail based on its location on the truck
