Dana 60 Torque specs
Does anyone know what the torque specs are for the fill plug on a Dana 60?
I found this on a different website: Torque Specs on Dana 60. Ring-gear bolts- 110 (lb-ft) Bearing-cap bolts- 85 (lb-ft) Diffrential cover bolts- 35 (lb-ft) Kingpin-to-end forging- 500-600 (lb-ft) Knuckle-bearing cap bolts- 70-90 (lb-ft) Steering arm to knuckle nuts- 70-90 (lb-ft) FRONT wheel-bearing adjuster (inner)nut: Step 1: To seat, torque nut to 50(lb-ft) while spinning hub. Step 2: Back off, then torque to 35(lb-ft) for automatic hubs,or 50(lb-ft) for manual hubs. Step 3: Back off 3/8-turn for automatic hubs, and just enough to free the bearing for manual hubs. Front wheel bearing lock (outer) nut- 160 (lb-ft) Spindle to knuckle nuts- 65 (lb-ft) U-bolts to spring-plate nuts- 150 (lb-ft) Wheel lugnuts- 120 (lb-ft) Rear-axleshaft-bearing retainer nuts- 25-35 (lb-ft) Rear axleshaft to full floating hub bolts- 115 (lb-ft) REAR wheel-bearing adjuster (inner) nut: Step 1: To seat, torque nut to 50 (lb-ft) while spinning hub. Step 2: Back off, then torque to hand tight or 1 (lb-ft). Rear wheel-bearing lock (outer) nut- 160 (lb-ft) Hope these helps all you heavy duty Dana 60 guys |
