1966 ford super van oil filler cap
 

I bought a 1966 ford super van and it is missing oil filler cap. I cannot find one. I am converting to paper air filter and noticed no oil filler cap and cannot find anything that will work any suggestions.

Found out it was not the oil filler cap but the PCV valve hole. I am trying to find the right PVC filter for it and one person said it connects to the carburetor and another says the air filter. Both have spots to hook too. My guess would be the air filter because it has the same diameter the PVC would and the tube running off the bottom of the carburetor has a small diameter and has a rubber cap on it.

my '66 240 falcon bus had a scavenge pipe and a breather cap. the '75 300 i'm running had a PCV valve and a vented cap thats line came off the air filter housing. I used the stock 300 pcv and manifold ported at the carb base. the valve cover i run has a solid rubber fill plug. it seams to evacute the pressures ok but i'm not changing out the air and thats not good in the long run. if you find a 70's fill cap you can add a small section of house and cobb in a breather filter & run a pcv if your currently capped. Your 66 had a wet air filter. if you can find a salvage yard with 70's iron grab the air filter housing and the fill cap both. a non emission breather cap should be available from Jeg's or one of the speed shops. dont over think the size of the vent lines the inside apature of my factory breather was less than 1/2 sq./cm. good luck, svj

240 I-6 valve cover has two holes, front & rear.

Front: Rubber grommet into hole, smog valve into grommet. Neoprene smog hose routes from valve to metal tube that threads into intake manifold.

Rear: Oil filler cap has nipple made as part of it. Neoprene smog hose routes from oil cap nipple to elbow on oil bath air cleaner.

I can't figure out what the second nipple is for that comes off my oil bath air filter. I know one goes to the oil filler cap. My PCV will go to the intake manifold that they had a rubber cap on. I still need to find PCV, grommet and hose to fit. My one barrel carb does not look like any that are in the repair manifold. I also noticed that there is one hole with threads open on the carb which may lead to the other nipple on the air cleaner or maybe to a spark control valve I don't know and can't find anyone around here in az that knows anything about this nor any diagrams online.

dido that, after last contact i found examples of breathers like those described by NumberDummy also saw a couple air pump systems as well. made me go dig up my breather and manifold and check them it it's starting to sound like mine have been some home made get up prior to me owning the van. I'm a bit goofed because my wet air cleaner has no fittings on it. Yellow paint on the engine block would suggest the engine had been replaced at some point. I'm not sure but I think the 240 first came out in '65 perhaps a lesser emission standard? The image for the molded line to the air cleaner looked identical to the one my '75 300 breather. My guess that part didn't change until fuel injection. That part might still be out there. NumberDummy laid a few sources on me when I needed a heater core. (they'er on one of the messages from about a year back) If a part # could be had it "might" still available O.E.M. I doubt napa or advance would have it. Roll stock will work but not be as finished an appearance. the mold-a-hose coil over may be available that small. or lay a stiff steel rod inside and shape it.
old antenna works well, real stiff and generally stainless steel yet small enough not to restrict flow too much.
