Mounted the new wide whites, wheels and hubcaps...pics.

Here is what the truck looked like when I got the truck about 6-7 weeks ago.

Since then I have done some mechanical stuff, buffed and waxed the truck and mounted some new shoes.

I got the rims and wheels from Summit. The wheels are wheel vintiques. The rear wheels are 15x7 with 3.75" backspacing. The tires in the rear L78-15 Coker Classics. The front wheels are 15x6 with 3.75" backspacing. The front tires are G78-15 Coker Classics. Total with shipping was $983. You can save about $100 a tire if you go with bias ply's. The wheels came powdercoat primed and then I went to a Carquest and had them match my paint and then I rattlecanned the wheels. This was the look I was looking for. The paint on the truck is by no means perfect or even good, but I just want a fun driving, old truck that I am not afraid to drive for fear of someone dinging it or putting a scratch on it. I have already had two classic cars like that before and they are not even that much fun to own because you are always terrified of something happening. This is perfect.

Those wide whites look real nice , just buff and wax, you are a lucky man. You have a nice looking truck.

Thanks for all the great comments guys. I am real happy with her. Thanks for all the help from you guys with a bunch of the questions I have had. This is my first real old Ford truck.

I like the look and was thinking the same for my panel. Did you go with the bias ply or did you get radials or can you get them in radials.

That's amazing all it took to get your truck looking so good was a buff and wax. Truly it was a diamond in the rough. Now she's a beauty and shines! The wheels look great.

It's amazing what some wax, a little bit of elbow grease and a pair of new "shoes" will do.

You can get them in radials...mine are bias ply. I wanted the savings, to be quite honest. If you go with similar sizes in radials, they are close to $100 more a tire than bias ply. My truck is still manual steering as well, and I have heard it is a bit easier to steer with bias ply's over radials.

Very Nice!

I threw on some radials. Mine too is all manual steering. No complaints - as long as it's moving a bit.
