Sparky83 11-01-2012 03:21 PM

ty ty.... now to see if it gets any better mpg with the way that stock filter looked...

donjamer 11-01-2012 04:56 PM

About time you did something productive..LOL

Looks good, but will the truck run again??}>

Sparky83 11-01-2012 05:36 PM

it tried to run on its own when i reconnected the battery...

donjamer 11-01-2012 05:37 PM

Did you hook it up right??LOL

Sparky83 11-01-2012 05:41 PM

yeah... some previous owner installed an aftermarket remote start that the remotes i dont have.. and prolly didnt work... so ill need to find it to unhook it and remove it...

donjamer 11-01-2012 06:24 PM

You could try a local alarm guy.. maybe they have the remotes for it.. If it's a name brand one..

Jigger2020 11-01-2012 06:29 PM

Shawn you never should change the air intake on that truck, the stock set up is the best, all you had to do was replace the filter........

I tried telling him that Gerry, but the money was burning a hole in his pocket..LOL

Sparky83 11-01-2012 07:07 PM

so ive heard... but his supposedly get me 15 more hp... along with about 40 more tq... and 110 more CFM... and being a dry filter its not going to hurt the turbo either...

i have 1 remote for it but i dont think everythings there... cuz it didnt work anymore...

donjamer 11-01-2012 07:17 PM

They could test it out.. maybe something is disconnected or it needs batteries

Sparky83 11-01-2012 07:18 PM

think its more someone did a half ass job installing it and then an even more half ass removing part of it...

donjamer 11-01-2012 07:25 PM

Could be.......

Sparky83 11-01-2012 07:28 PM

i have wires going to no where in the engine compartment that really dont look like stock with the ends snipped off... and a sticker saying "this vehicles equipped with a DEI remote start" ect ect under the hood... which when i look up DEI i keep getting viper which is what the one remote is... but doesnt seem to work...

donjamer 11-01-2012 07:39 PM

That's why i would try an alarm guy.. They know where everything goes under there..

What Don said Shawn. You're not sure, but they will know.

Sparky83 11-01-2012 07:54 PM

but i have to PAY an alarm guy... i can snoop for free myself lol.. all i gotta do is follow the wires back... since theyre snipped off im pretty sure i know what they go to... never seen a ford leave wires like that from factory... lol.. ive ripped a few alarms out before... once in my s10... and another in a Land rover.. along with a couple other friends vehicles.. its fun finding what monkey crap people have done before lol..

Ford does leave them snipped.. They are for the Upfitter switches..LOL

Sparky83 11-01-2012 08:08 PM

dont think these go to that... lol... up fitters go inside... lol.. and this truck wasnt ordered with that... ntm doubt theyd leave like 4 ft of wire under the hood....

donjamer 11-01-2012 08:12 PM

That is a bit much..

I have about 4 wires behind the brake booster just hanging there
